Each room has its own individual charm, all recently refurbished to a very high standard of luxury and comfort, they are exceptional for a village hotel. Ranging from simple singles to large family rooms, all en suite and each one includes colour TV, radio alarm, trouser press, hairdryer, tea & coffee making facilities and direct dial telephone.

Tolkien & Walking breaks

The Shireburn is home to the famous Tolkien Trail (JRR Tolkein author of the Lord of the Rings used Hurst Green, the Shireburn and Stonyhurst College as his inspiration for his books) so therefore why not use the Shireburn as the perfect base from which to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside.

Picnic lunches are available, good drying rooms, maps of the walk available.

Golf breaks

When next considering a golf break, the Shireburn has to be the venue for you, surrounded by eight of the best courses in the area. We are able to offer assistance and recommendations of the various courses (please book all golf direct with the clubs)
Our bedrooms all have excellent shower facilities, drying room available, meals and times to suit your golf, menus to fit any budget, friendly courteous staff and late bars for your guests should you require.
